National Cyber League

The National Cyber League (NCL) is a premier cybersecurity competition that challenges participants with real-world scenarios in areas like Log Analysis, Web Application Exploitation, and Cryptography. In Spring 2024, I ranked in the 98th percentile, placing 17th out of 4,199 overall and 6th in Log Analysis. I also excelled in Open-Source Intelligence and Web Application Exploitation. In Fall 2023, I achieved 100th percentile and placed 29th out of 4,672 participants, excelling in Forensics and Cryptography. I continued strong performances in Fall 2024, finishing 100th out of 4,893 in categories like Forensics and Scanning & Reconnaissance. Looking forward to further growth in future competitions!

Department Of Energy: Cyberforce Competition

This was during my freshman year at Illinois State University, and it was my first collegiate cybersecurity competition with my university's cybersecurity club. The competition consisted of a red vs. blue team challenge, along with CTF challenges, all within an 8-hour event focused on cybersecurity scenarios you might encounter in the energy sector. The red vs. blue team portion tasked us with setting up and defending AWS instances against industry-professional red-teamers. The CTF portion involved challenges centered around tracking threat adversaries and forensics. What I took away most from this experience was the ability to work well on a team to tackle complicated and tough cybersecurity tasks for the very first time!

National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity: (NCAE-C) National Competition

• Competed in a real-time Capture The Flag (CTF) and red-vs-blue competition, defending a simulated network infrastructure from advanced cyber attacks.
• Gained hands-on experience in incident response and network defense by facing professional red team hackers.
• Developed and executed a network defense strategy for a simulated enterprise environment, ensuring uptime for key services (web, DNS, FTP, SSH).
